Trying to decide what I should focus on?

Hello All,

I apologize if this question has been asked a million times over. I am unsure if I should continue to eat at a deficit or focus on weight training? I like the size of my body right now, but I do have some excess skin/fat that needs to be gone. I don't want to be ripped, I don't want to be "skinny", I just want to shake less when I walk. (LOL) & be healthy. Should I put my focus into my diet or exercise?

(I do realize I need to exercise and watch diet either way...)

Thanks in advance!

I am counting calories and exercising right now. I guess my question is should I be eating at a large deficit while trying to build strength?

    A combination of both.

Weights will help you preserve more muscle mass while you are losing. :)

It sounds like you're asking whether you should be cutting or bulking right now.

I'd suggest posting this question in the exercise forum for some perspective from people who've been doing the cut / bulk cycles for a while. But if you're generally happy with your weight and body fat right now but you just want to get stronger, then you probably want to be looking at transitioning to eating at maintenance and lifting weight. If you still feel like you have more body fat to lose, you probably want to lift at a deficit for a little while longer.
