Getting started, all over again

Been on MFP for about 2 years (used fitday before that) trying to lose 30 pounds. I'm a PhD student who has spent too much time in doors and eating poorly, losing the body and willpower I had before. Now I'm trying to reclaim them once more.

About 4 weeks ago, I began hitting the gym again. Last week, I started biking again. This week I began my old routine of jumping rope. But, I realized that without tracking my progress, the foods I eat, and the amount I workout, it would be hard to make gains. So, here I am, holding myself accountable.

    Welcome back.. I too have been on here for a few years and not getting anywhere but I need to come back strong... You got this! You have made the first step!

    Same here. I was on here 3 years ago and had to take a nice break, but being back on MFP brings back memories.
