Obvious choices are cutting down on the obvious sources like pastas, potatoes, rices etc
Cut back on higher carb fruits and starchy veggies and opt more for leafy greens.

Load up on protein. Try and get some form of it in everything you eat through the day (so all meals and snacks).

You can be low carb and still enjoy them though. My carb count is generally low and I still start my day with porridge :)

keep your calories there, 1300 is a good amount if your just trying to lose. Replace those carbs with protein and fat(mostly protein) to make up for te lose in carb calories. cottage cheese and yogurt are good to have in your diet, and if you arent already eating quinoa, its a great great way to replace rice and pasta... its still a grain so it does have carbs, but it has more protein in it and much better for you than other grains.

I try to eat most of my carbs earlier in the day, of those that I do eat. After 2pm, I try (and sometimes fail, esp on the weekends, but I try!) to eat just protein and low starch veggies. The one thing that's been difficult on my diary when I try to go low carb is the fat. a lot of lower carb meals end up higher in fat, even if it's good fats. I try to keep carbs 25%, protein 40%, and fat 35%.

sub 15 carbs and i feel better than i have for ages as it gives some sort of natural high , i sleep better and i havnt noticed any reduction in the weights i m using , and the only downside seems to be a lack of energy after training but a shake and an hour later i m fine...

By the way, the weight falls off faster than i d believe possible.
