P90X food question

So, I'm starting week 4 on Monday. I originally tried doing the menu option (level 1, 1800) calories - but that didn't work too well for me (it was getting hard for me to find time to make the meals and so I would end up eating too little). I just switched to the portion option but now I have a new issue! I have eaten all of my "portions" but I am still under on my calories. What food groups should I pull from to make up the extra calories, given I've meet my goals for each portion?

Thanks!

If you set your carb/fat/protein goals on MFP, that should give you a good indication on what kinds of foods you need to eat to hit your goals. It's really going to depend on the foods you chose.

I am new to this sight so am just reading the messages. I started a new weight management program in my town that is run by a real medical doctor who is an internist. He really knows his stuff and practices what he preaches. He and his staff go to all the large weight conventions held in North America and has run his program for more than ten years. By experience they have found that after one eats the different food groups and have not reached enough calories for the day or if you have reached the amount of calories but are still hungry, they recommend eating up to 3 more servings of protein that day. Another recommendation is not to ever eat carbs for breakfast or alone (always with protein). Anyway following this I have now lost 12 pounds in just 3 weeks without excercising (I injured my foot) and also I only need to lose about 30 lbs. This is proving to be the best plan I have ever tried. Food for thought. Good Luck.
