I hurt my left knee years ago it went of it socket or joint. Strengten muscles around my knee and didn't have requrring pain till now after 10yrs. I'm not sure if my knee is hurting and sore after month of 30 shred. I quit it for that reason. well i want to start again only if I use a knee brace if it will work. I may have been due to incorrect form of doing lunges. OR my knee could also be hurting from arthritis which runs in my family. I'm only 29 and it seems too early. It's a dull pain and can feel it in the left knee on the right side. I doesn't feel like a pulled muscle. Should I go to a sports injury Dr. Or try the brace?

I'd see the doctor. I had a serious injury to my ankle and knee when I was 18. At that time, my leg was casted. I later walked with crutches and a brace. Eventually, I worked up to leaving the crutches off and then the brace.

Repeatedly the doctors and physical therapist expressed the importance of weaning out of the brace. They were super concerned about my relying on it in the long run. Learning to go without the brace little by little, I could feel how much my muscles were relying on it. The first times without it were kind of scary.

Fifteen years later, I slipped and fell on ice and reinjured the same knee and it was giving out on me. I ended up back in physical therapy. No one ever mentioned using a brace. I wouldn't wear one again unless a doctor told me to.
