Food
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Food is any substance[1] consumed to provide nutritional support for the body. It is usually of plant or animal origin, and contains essential nutrients, such as carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins, or minerals. The substance is ingested by an organism and assimilated by the organism's cells in an effort to produce energy, maintain life, or stimulate growth
That’s the ideal but…….do any of us really think of food that way? We focus on how much or how little we eat, when we eat, with whom and what we eat every day. We plan most social engagements on what we are serving, we look forward to “special” occasions to eat and for most of us it never brings us any joy.
We feel happy, sad, guilty, confused, shameful, all over something that is meant to sustain life, not become our life. I am hoping one day to break off my relationship with food and let it do what it was meant to do, sustain me while I live my own life separate from the food, and be happy and feel joy while I’m doing it!!
