is a food scale worth purchasing and what's a good one to buy?

    absolutely. A food scale is a must if you are looking for accuracy. Make sure it can do ounces and grams. I paid $15 for mine at Walmart and it works great. I would definitely go for a digital instead of a basic spring scale. Much more accurate
