Recomendations for shoulder stability

This question is mostly aimed at those with some formal fitness knowledge/training
I have just started working out again and I would like to focus some attention on strengthening the muscles around my rotator cuff etc. I am Hyperflexible "double jointed" and have a tendency to over extend and be injured.
What specific machines/free weight excersizes would you reccomend?
