How to set my goal??

currently weight 158lbs
Goal weight 118lbs
My bmr is 1425

I am aiming to lose 1 pound each week
Should i put 1425 as my goal kcal
Or 1425-500 as my goal?

    Did you use mfp to calculate that or another site? 1425 - 500 is only 925 calories.... that's no where near enough food.

    What did mfp set you? Go with that to start with then you can play around if it works/doesn't work.

    Personally wouldn't recommend eating below bmr, that's what your body burns if you were just laying in bed all day and night. I'm assuming you don't do that?

    I tend to agree that BMR of 1425 doesn't sound right. How did you calculate it? I am 67 yrs of age - 5'3" and my BMR is 1940 and I am currently on 1440 to lose 1 pound per week. I don't know of any reputable diet site that would suggest any less than 1200 calories. Have you completed a profile in MFP as they usually calculate how many calories you need to be eating? Just make sure you update after each change. Hope this helps.
