I am hearing a lot about the weight loss benefits of eating and cooking with coconut oil. Does anyone have the facts?

I don't think you will find any facts.0

Nope, it's not magic, but as I stated in the other post, it's great for your hair.0

Makes fried eggs taste better (at least I think so) - same for scrambled. Also great for cuticles!0

I use it as a butter substitute because I don't eat dairy, but although I've heard tons of claims about it's amazing properties, I haven't seen anything convincing yet. It tastes good, so it's got that going for it0

I add 10g in my smoothie everyday, which is 80 something calories! I'd be too scared to consume any more over the day. I'd rather not waste a quarter of my calories on coconut oil0

The jar I have at home says to take 4 Tbsp daily as a "supplement"
Seriously? That's not a supplement, that's lunch!0 -

Supposed to help with belly fat, and recommended by a doctor who's opinion I trust, so I'm using it with that in mind. The other reason I'm using it...it tolerates high heat of saute/stirfry/roasting.
Oils like flax and olive oil have lower smoke points, so those are better for salads.0
