Polar FT4 problems

So I've had my polar watch for a whole month and it is malfunctioning--well, it seems that way at least. It'll tell me that training has started and then it will go out in the middle of me working out....and will leave no record of the workout that I busted my butt doing. Anyone else have issues with the FT4? I've wet the strap and washed it, the only thing I havent done was replace the battery---it seems too early to have to do that:(
