Veggies make me feel bloated, not full...

I eat a lot of veggies. But lately they don't seem to make me full as much as horribly bloated... and I still feel kinda hungry.

Does it happen to anyone else? I'm starting to think that maybe all that fiber is just not helping that much...

I find the same thing. So if I'm having veggie sticks & hummous, I'll also put 2 hard boiled eggs on my plate. Or I slice them to put in my salad or I'll put chicken in a salad to feel more satisfied. Sometimes I grind flax seed in coffee grinder and sprinkle some on my salads or my zuchini noodle dinner. To help fill me. As for bloat, I've purchased Beano and Gas ex tablets. I take one OR the other if needed. Helps to reduce bloat from certain veggies.

I guess it depends on the type of vegetables you're eating. I eat a lot of broccoli with cauliflower as well as green beans, asparagus, Brussel sprouts, and spinach during the day and none of these make me feel bloated. I'm not hungry after eating my vegetables because I usually eat them with something that is high in Protein such as eggs, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, ect... I drink a lot of water during the day because my diet does tend to be high in fiber.

Those vegies make me look 9 months pregnant!

OP - you may not be able to digest certain vegies properly, causing the bloat. I've cut down a lot of high FODMAPs, and also take digestive enzymes and have less issues.

Fibers and carbohydrates should fill you, contrariwise of protein.
For the bloating, yes, it could depends on the type of vegetables: try to reduce leafy greens

You probably ate too much fiber too fast. It happens to me when I scarf down a bunch of raspberries or carrots too quickly.

I find that with cabbage, I like it but it gives me bloating and stomach pains.

I never have a problem with cooked veggies. And I usually combine veggies with other parts of a meal that includes protein and fat. I'm full and happy.

I guess it could be that I'm eating too many of them at the same time, and that I eat fast...
