I totally forgot about UK / US sizing there and freaked out for a while. My colleague is a UK 10 (US 6) at 5'7 and 126lb

Thanks everyone for their replies! I guess I should have specified US, but I was being clueless.

I was thinking it was about 170 for me. I just broke 200 (198 now) and am in a 14.

There was some diet plan commercial way back when that said, "delve into a 12," so hopefully that's my next step. If I could just get that phrase out of my head now...

I think its different for everyone. When I'm fluctuating between 170 and 180, I wear a 10/12. But everyones build different. You may weight 170 and carry most of your weight in your upper body and wear a size 6 pant.

    I'm not sure about a 10. But I'm 5'6" or 5'7" depending who's measuring me and weigh 163.6lbs this morning and I'm in a size 6. I'm usually a size 4 when I'm around 145-150lbs. But I build up muscle too.

    152. Size 10 is swimming on me and falling off me. Fit tight 8 pounds ago. Now my eights are loose.

I weight 205 and I am wearing US size 12 . It really depends on your body type and how you carry your weight. When I was 175 I was wearing size 8

I'm 5'6, 150lbs and currently wearing a pair of size 5 (US) Hollister jeans. Granted, they are a little stretchy.

I just ordered a bridesmaid dress in a size 12 (per the lady's instructions at the store), but fit into a size 10 just fine. Its glitter fabric, so she scared me into a bigger size with the "cheaper to take in, than let out with this material".

Im hoping to take it in to a size 8 by the wedding this fall. I have yet to try the 12 on... hope to soon.

Its so interesting to see how people the same height and weight all carry their weight so differently.

5'6" here and I am between 152-157 (trying to figure out that maintenance thing!). Depending on brand US 8 on average.
  • If we need to make clear that we mean us vs uk size 10, can we also make sure we are talking about pounds and not stone and give our height in feet and inches, like the OP?

    I am 5’6.5” and #160 at us size 10
Somebody above (lishie_rebooted) says that she was never a US 10 at #172–where she was squeezing into a 6 but should have been wearing a size 8.

Lishie doesn’t say how tall she is, but reports wearing a size 2/4 at #140.

Lishie must be a 6 ft tall fitness model.

I have lived in US and the UK. And have been #115- my current weight. Every size from xs to l / 2-10 (us). Which used to be xs-xl / 4-12 to xl 4-12.
    I’m old, too.

  • Alexelmer: you are probably younger than some of us and still carrying weight in your thighs and butt. Don’t be jealous of my 50 year old size 10 jeans. My gut and upper arms and chin would trade for your butt fat any day 🙂

I just Cannot comprehend how someone 5’7” and 150-160 gets into size 10 jeans😱. I’m nowhere close to that, even in my younger days in the 130s.

I am 5'7 and reasonably fit for 44... I am currently a solid 10 and can get in some 8s at 170. I was 166 a few weeks ago and a pair of 8 goal pants were comfortable.

I am exactly 5’7 and have been losing a little weight recently and am around 175 and I am a curvy fit 10 and normal 12 I feel like I weigh to much for my height and size but I look like everyone that is 160 or at least I feel like it.
