Coffee drinks

im having a difficult time giving up my coffee drinks from Starbucks and caribou, I love getting iced Americanos with dark chocolate. Did anyone else run into that challenge or is having problems with this? Is getting this once in a while a bad thing? Is drinking coffee everyday a bad thing? Does anyone have any good alternatives?

    Starbucks high calorie drinks were a big problem for me. My caramel macchiato every single day added up. Coffee every day is not an issue at all, it's what you add to it. Now I drink iced americanos with non-fat milk. Can you try that?

    Skinny lattes are pretty low in calories, as well as skinny cappuccinos. Those are my go-to's

    Black coffee is the best for you but ewwwee lol I will add a dab a sugar and fat free international delight creamer or just do a nonfat cappuccino from starbucks

    I drink coffee everyday. I love the stuff. Just drink black coffee. It's all the junk added to it that makes it unhealthy.

    I'm not a huge milk fan And I'm obsessed with coffee but I can't do black coffee, I'll do the powdered creamer or 2-4 tablespoons of half and half with a couple packets of generic sweetner on a daily basis but otherwise I'll add two tablespoons of dark chocolate sauce or some sugar free torani syrup to my coffee if I'm looking for the sweet factor, I just want to make sure doing that everyday isn't going to make or break my weight loss.

    My favorite is the frappuccino light from starbucks. $5 for a venti and about 200 calories.

    I can make my own at home faster than I can get to the car, for about 150 calories, and under $1. Skim milk, pudding mix, coffee, splenda, and my ninja blender.

    I make my own iced lattes which are 45 calories. One cup of flavored coffe, one cup coconut almond milk or chocolate. Almond milk (unsweetened) and a few tablespoons of sugar free syrup. I use mocha and toffee the most. Also I make ice cubes the same way so it doesn't get watery. Again only 45 calories. I am a recovering star bucks addict so I feel your pain!

    I make room for 1-2 cups of coffee with half n half every day. #qualityoflife!

    I make my own Java chip for <200 calories.
    1/2 cup Double strength coffee chilled
    1/2 cup regular almond milk (not unsweetened) (30 calories)
    2 Tbls chocolate syrup (100 calories)
    1 Tbls chocolate chips (70calories)
    1/8 Tbls xanthan gum ( < 5 calories)
    Ice
    I blend everything except the chocolate chips for a bit before adding them so they dont get overblended.
    U can use less chocolate syrup but I think it needs the full amount for sweetness to be similar to starbucks.

    It won't as long as you can include it in your calorie goal for the day and it doesn't cause you to go over.
    But can you even still taste the coffee in a drink like that?

    Why not? I drink dark roast and usually add 1-2 shots espresso also

    Hmmm, that sounds good - pudding mix?? Care to tell more on that? Does it make it thicker, frothier, or just sweeter? I'm intrigued. I have used a tablespoon of sugar-free pudding in some smoothies, but coffee?! Do tell!!

    Think of the money you could be saving if you stay out of Starbucks! Maybe try putting that $5 or $10 in a jar each morning and buy yourself a spa day at the end of the month as a reward for kicking the fufu coffee habit.

    I put my money into good coffee beans and make fresh ground coffee at home each morning. Good coffee with a splash of half & half is reward unto itself and I'd rather use my calories somewhere else in the day.

    I drank a latte a day for years. Boy did all those calories add up! A skinny vanilla latte at 120 calories every day adds up to 12lbs in a year...something I knew I could sacrifice! I kicked that habit and now just drink black coffee in the mornings and unsweetened iced tea for my afternoon pick me up. It takes some getting used to, but the idea of drinking any sweet coffee now is repulsive.

    However, if it fits in your goals then go ahead.

    Getting an espresso machine saved my wallet immensely, haha. But it also helped with drink calories. I make small cappuccinos that end up only being maybe 30 calories (2 oz espresso, 2 oz milk, 2 oz foam).

    But. "Short" size is my favorite at Starbucks. For one, I think the short, which is 8oz, is the best size for these types of drinks. Tend to have a stronger flavor because they don't weigh the drink down with extra milk. A full fat cappuccino from starbucks is only 80 calories. Probably my go-to when I want something to sip while working. But I indulge in Frapps on a hot summer day too, just skip the whip and stick to a tall.

    I don't like Starbucks' plain coffee, they really over roast the beans. Which is okay for flavored drinks, but on its own/drip coffee, just not my thing. If I want black coffee I go to Panera.

    I also purchased a espresso machine and its definetly saved me money. I bought the nespresso and I love t because I can make coffee and espresso with it. I bought the sugar free torani syrups and torani dark chocolate sauce (100 cal for two tablespoons) I don't add milk I usually do half and half of I choose to add a dairy element. My fiancée made me a a coffee bar so I still get to play barista and staying out of Starbucks and caribou has become so much easier especially staying out of caribou which I've decided isn't amazing. It's the family owned coffee shops that I'm having a problem with because everything they make is so delicious but I think I'm going to allow myself to buy three "special" drinks a week and make the rest at home. All we have at work is folgers...that I can't do. Eww
