Hi guys, i need your comments on this. Im 5ft and 11 inches and i weigh 50kg. So im a bit underweight. Age is 21. All i wanted is that my weight and height are proportion. Do i have to eat a lot first before enrolling in a gym or should i do them both? What do i have to eat?

Well you should probably weight somewhere around 66-72kg, for a healthier weight.
If you were to just eat massive amounts now, then you'd just gain pure fat.
If you were to eat massive amounts and go to the gym, you'd still gain lots of fat.

Unless your current weight is making you really unhealthy or that there's a dire need for you to gain lots of weight fast (other medical circumstances), then I would suggest you eat only 300-400 calories surplus every day. Slowly gaining just a little over half a pound every week. While going to the gym preferably 3 times, maybe even 4 times each week doing a proper strength training program. It will take many many months, but as you get closer to an average weight for your height, almost the entire weight gain will be pure muscle. Only a tiny amount will be fat.

Also keeping in mind that your daily calorie limits will increase/decrease based on your activity level. So if today you had to eat 2200 to maintain, then you should eat 2500-2600. But tomorrow you might go and play soccer or basketbal with friends for a couple of hours for example, and then you'd need to eat 2400 calories to maintain, so then you'd have to eat 2700-2800 calories.
And works the same if you were really inactive for days too, you wouldn't need to eat as many calories to gain weight
