Plotting a Run

Hi everyone
I am beginning training to run a half marathon and would really like to plot my runs before I do them, on a map and by distance.
I've Google'd and can't find any apps or websites that can really help me or work well.
Can anyone recommend anything to me please?

Mapmyrun will let you plot out a run before you go. Or you can use it to log after.
I suspect most of the major running apps will do this.
ETA - it just may be that they don't advertise it as a function. Just go to "log a run" and it will let you plan it out. I just don't save it. I searched for a 14mile route yesteday on MMR.0 -
Hi,
I use Google maps and the 'Measure Distance' option. Click and drag your route. If you don't mind running back the way you came measure to 6.2 miles. That's way when you run back you will have covered your 12.4 miles or 20k.
Cheers,

Also the good thing about using Mapmyrun is it give you markers along the way to show 1 mile, 2, etc. It also has an undo function which takes you back to the last point you plotted so you don't have to start over each time.0

I use MapMyRun quite often and like that site/app a lot in general.
As far as planning out a route, though, I find this site very useful: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/ You can have the site draw automatic lines for you if you're running on regular roads, or you can draw straight lines yourself (say you're running through a park). I hope this helps!0 -
I use Garmin Connect to do mine (cause of my watch). Though its not as good as mapmyrun.0

Mapmyrun will also allow you to find routes - you can search your area for maps others have made and find ones that match the distance you want to run.0

Ditto above about MapMyRun. Prior to using that I was using this link, works just as well. http://www.mappedometer.com/0

Endomondo, Runkeeper, Strava.
Personally I've never found MapMyFitness particularly reliable.0 -
Excellent, thanks all! I will look into everything suggested.0

I just used google maps to plot my runs when I was marathon training. I'd make them into a big loop that started and ended at my house.0
