So I typically eat 3500 calories a day and I run for 1-2 hours everyday plus other activities like yoga, swimming, cycling etc. This is for me to LOSE weight. I'm also fairly tall. My bmr is about 1600 calories.. I'm confused what to eat on a rest day. I haven't taken a rest day in over a month and I'm afraid to eat too much. That said I would surely starve on anything less than 2000 a day. Its noon, I've ate my typical 1200 calories by now. How much more should I eat between now and bedtime to still lose with only my daily 3-4 mile walk and light exercise ( since I'm NOT working out today.. First time in a month lol).

Just eat the same, or slightly less if you're not as hungry. You're very active if you're losing at 3500 calories a day. If you really want to be ocd about it calculate your burn on active days and deduct that many calories. But I bet you'll be hungry if you do that, and it's not necessary.
And take more rest days. Rest days are where all the magic happens. Your body will thank you.0 -
You are 5 ft 9 haven't taken a rest day in over a month you want to be in the 120-130lb range....at 125 you are considered underweight...and you are worried about how much to eat today?
Try resting and not worrying about it...and re-evaluate what you are doing...and where you want to go...it sounds very unhealthy to me...0 -
At 5'9" and 135 pounds (from your profile) your BMR is around 1428 not 1600.
I am skeptical that you are eating 3500 kcal and losing weight. I think that this is a rare case of a person overestimating how much they are eating (instead of the usual underestimating).
Even if you were running two hours every day and walking another hour per day, I think at 5'9 and 135 pounds you would be burning something less than 3500 kcal a day, so I think that your numbers are off.
(Those were just some quick calculations. My numbers could be off, too.)0 -
One day isn't going to make any difference.0
