Trying not to beat myself up

Hello everyone,

I am in a tricky place. I lost 130 lbs after battling weight and food issues my whole life. I gained back about 30, & have maintained a good solid 2 years at this weight now (160+/-). My biggest issue is I still feel fat, my skin is very lose and it's hard for me to see myself like how I really am. I go up & down on the scale about 5-8 lbs a month. I'm just really struggling for my sanity & wonder if anyone has anything to share that might inspire me to accept myself presently.

I really want to lose about 20 lbs so I can feel lighter on my feel & keep in my recommended BMI range.

I'm just going nuts.

HELP!

Don't beat yourself up. Losing weight takes time and patience. Just come up with a solid meal and exercise plan and stick with it. There are plenty available online for free. I just got one and started using it today. It's super doable and easy to understand and maintain. I can help you if you need it! :)

Wow that's an amazing weight loss!! Good job not only loosing it but keeping it off for 2 solid years. Yeah okay so you have gained and lost a few, but you have been keeping it under control. That;s a great accomplishment.

I can understand that it must be disappointing to still not feel good about your body. I think self image is more than just about weight and so it takes more than just loosing weight to improve it. This might be something you would do best to sit down with a therapist and talk out. If it is an option for you, it might be worth talking to a doctor about surgery to remove the extra skin. People do that, and I hear it does help a lot.

Now is the time to start working on your inner self since you have done such an amazing job with your physical body. :)

I am a big weight losser as well. I lost half my body weight but around 28 lbs have crept on. I know I can do This but it feels so much harder ! And how come when I was 22 stone I didn't care but this bit ive put on makes me feel gross ! I can't bare to look at myself and avoid mirrors !!! I really need to lose what I've put on to make me feel better as well. I just don't like myself these days . I'm still going to exercise classes though I have to drag myself ... but am always happier after that I went ... I feel like I'm wasting the weeks that I could be losing weight by making poor food choices ... oh woe is me !

As for the skin ... I have that too but I am trying to learn to accept it . I hate it. I wear underwear and clothes that help disguise what's real. Helps a little ...

The loose skin is just a part of it. It's one of the main reasons I've plateaued for so long.
