I need help with this topic: so far I ate 896 calories and burned 1,445 calories through exercise. I'm in the hole -549 net calories so far. Is that bad?

It means that you are not getting enough easily accessible calories into your system to keep up with your activities. I have days like that (last Saturday, for example). The next day I was hungry and ate extra.

You really do want to have your net calories AVERAGE to whatever your goal is - and the rule of thumb is that should be over 1200 calories a day. But some days you may be negative. Just don't make it a habit and DO feel comfortable going over the day or two after a big deficit it make it up.

Going negative at a random point during the day is fine. Just try to get to around your target calories by the end of the day.

Thanks for the tip! I usually get in the negative range for a short while but today I did Zumba on the X-Box Kinect and I burned 981 calories and I burned around 400-500 calories doing calisthenics (lifting weights, situps, pushups, etc) and I had a lower carb day than yesterday.

One more question: If I'm under my calorie goal (which I have been thankfully) will it help me to lose weight?
