Help, binging and fasting cycle

As the title has stated, I am stuck in a binging and fasting cycle. I was stuck in one when I was dieting down and now I'm stuck in 1 again as I am slowly adding calories. I overeat on one day and then I fast the next day to compensate, which leads me to overeat the next day. What do I do?

My suggestion would be instead of fasting after a binge day just try to eat your what your goal for calories is the next day. That way you may not be so starving and lead to a binge day again.0

Don't follow a binge with a fast. Simple as that, let the past go and break the cycle.
If you can't then seek professional help.0 -
Sort out your MFP diary settings to what best suits your needs (lose weight, maintain, gain etc) and then stick to those calories as close as possible (within 100 calories either way would be best) every day. This can be much easier by pre logging the day before. I find it helps me "prepare" myself for the day and what I have for meals and snacks, it's really helped me control binging.
Like panda said, if you have a bad day and binge or a bad day and fast just get back to it and eat as close to what you should be for fueling your body as possible.0 -
Maybe try eating at maintenance to avoid extreme feelings of hunger. Increase fibre & water, take a mulit-vitamin to reduce cravings caused by deficiencies, reduce sugars and eat more protein/complex carbs (if you're into that).
If you feel a binge coming on, distract yourself, distance yourself from food and delay the eating until you feel ready. Pre-log your food and stick to it (or whatever works for you).
You can do it!
Also, avoid being sleep-deprived, thirsty or over-caffeinated.0 -
There are two subtypes of bulimia: purging and non-purging. The non-purging type is used to describe individuals who compensate through dietary fasting or excessive exercising. It is an eating disorder. I used to struggle with it and it got totally out of control and ruined my quality of life.
You need to get professional help if you can't stop this behaviour.
