Cup measurements?

Hi there, Ive been reading your recipies and they sound great. The only thing is alot of the recipie measurements seem to be in cups and in the UK we dont generally weigh this way. Can someone please let me know what the average gram/ounce weight a cup is?

Cup is a measure of volume not weight.

Two cups in a pint. Two pints in a quart. Four quarts in a gallon.

The US measures are different from the UK measures

For fluids, 1cup is 8oz, however for solids it's different.

FYI Fluids:
Also, 1 fl cup = ~240mL. And there are some other conversions you'll need for tablespoon, which I think is like 15mL.

It's important to note what you are trying to measure, fluids or solids. Solids will have different weights for their volumes, so use the top link for somethings.

Canadian & British measurements are the same, 1 cup = 227.304 mls exactly! Put the following site in your favourites, I've found it quit useful.
