Adding food from custom barcode

Hi,

I'm creating a recipe book and want to add barcodes to each recipe so that the user can scan them through MFP and bring up each recipe.

How do i go about doing this? I mean, how do i actually create a barcode and then submit that and the recipe/ingredients and quantity to MFP to register it within the app for people to use?

why not reuse codes from non food products if for personal use just scan and when it does not come up with a product enter your details you can make a sheet to print using generator.barcoding.com/ to get nice bar-code .pngs

though it would be nice to be able to generate qr codes for your recipes
