Ok so I drink just 250 ml Milk each night. Im cutting and trying to lose fat.
250ml of Milk equals out to this according to nutritional information on Milkpak :
Calories 155
Total Fat 9g
Saturated 6g
Carbs 13g
Sugars 13
Protein 6g
Is this bad if I am trying to lose fat?
Please clarify this for me. Thanks.

Why would a glass of milk be bad? Why are you questioning milk and not cheese or bread or lentils or carrots?0

if it puts you over your calorie goal yes, if not, no.0 -
Up until about a week ago I was drinking 600ml of milk every morning in my tea. I'd done this for years.
I only reduced it because it annoyed me to be wasting precious calories on fluid...
In answer to your question, milk in of itself won't make you gain weight/fat unless it puts you over your calorie goal, just like anything else0 -
MIght be worth trying skimmed milk if you're that worried.0
-
You were drinking over half a litre of milk each morning ? There is nothing wrong with drinking heaps of milk. I drink full fat milk and I drink about four cups a day of tea. Nothing wrong with milk as it has calcium in it which you need.0
-
Whole milk has great macros. As with all food, keep your calories correct.

I drink between 7-9 cups of milky tea everyday. All that milk added up at the end of the day
I just went from 100ml of milk per cup down to 40-50ml0 -
No..
1) Count the calories in your diary..
2) If you go over your calories because of this milk, then yes you need to cut the milk from your diet, or eating something less to fit it in.0 -
Yeah pretty much what I thought as well. Good to have it cleared up though. and yes i am in calorie deficit from the last 6 months my daily average calorie intake is 1150 to 1200 including milk

how many calories i should consume ? my daily goal from MFP is 1,230 Calories
just 6 months ago i was at 253 lb. with a 1200 calorie diet and a lot of exercise/cardio now i am at 178 lb0 -
Mfp shouldn't give a male under 1500 calories a day. There's been a mistake made somewhere. ..

Christine - you really should explain that calculator doesn't work the same as the myfitnesspal calculator.
Especially to someone who obviously isn't that clued up.....0 -

How is it different? He needs to work out his tdee minus 20% . The scooby calculator will do this for him.
I get pretty much the same numbers from all of the different calculators I've used, give or take 100 here or there.

Scooby is a TDEE calculator and MFP isn't.
That's why MFP goal is plus exercise calories as they aren't factored in.
MFP also doesn't take off percentages.0 -
Too much calories are "bad" for weight loss.0

Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) 1115 (TDEE) 1338
these numbers are probably wrong bcoz from IIFYM Calculator my BMR is: 1857 TDEE is: 22290 -
Then op should enter sedentary. And if he does go by scooby and adds exercise he shouldn't add any exercise into mfp's exercise diary, correct?
I must admit, I'm pretty terrible at explaining things.
Scooby is posted here every single day, and I've never seen anyone write a disclaimer under the link0 -

No - any calculator should be used as designed and not start messing around changing settings to alter the outcome.
Zero point in using a TDEE calculator and then deliberately putting in wrong information.
If you are "terrible explaining things" might be better to point a confused OP towards the sticky threads in the Getting Started forum.0 -

Christine, imagine someone sedentary with a TDEE of 2200 or so. If you enter a 2 lb loss on Mfp it will give 1200 calorie allowance with the idea that you eat back your exercise calories. There is nothing wrong with that calculation.
A 1000 calorie cut might be difficult and shouldn't be sustained for the long term but it isn't necessarily a) incorrect or b) giving you under 1500 if you then add exericse.
While personally I use a TDEE -x% it isn't necessarily the only way to go. Getting motivated to exericse and improve activity levels is one of the pluses of an exericse deficit method like mfp's.
To the original poster, if you are close to your target weight slowly increase your cals. You should be losing less per week, and this should be reflected in your calorie goal. Also Mfp is built so that you eat back some of your calories from exericse.
Also, noticed that your weight goal is in the 150's. That a relatively low weight goal for a guy - are you sure that it is realistic for your frame and height?0 -
What Toad said twice. if its within your allowance then milk and full fat milk is prettty awesome. the 1200 is too low.0
-
Ok I'll leave this to the more experienced folks...
Like I said before, this is the very first time I've ever seen anyone questioned after posting this link.
I think it has to be the most oft repeated calculator posted here..0 -
Can I ask a silly question?
Using this calculator my TDEE is 2064 - 20% is 1651. I currently do 1-3 hours of exercise a week.
So do I eat to that calorie goal every day, even if I don't exercise on that day? Also, what happens when I can't exercise as much in a given week?
v confused?!0 -

Congratulations on your weight loss.
Now is a good time to slow things down to 1/2 pound or 1 pound a week.
Increase your calories to about 1700 calories --- that way you can be sure that you are meeting your body's nutritional needs.
You want to look and feel good when you get to goal.
