confused about calorie intake and exercise

I've used the BMR Calculators, etc, and I get you have to have a deficit of 500 cals a day between food and exercise but I can't figure out my needs. I'm 5'1, female, 19, 150 lbs and sedentary except for my 45 minute+ exercise every day of cardio and/or strength. My fitness pal tells me my net should be about 1200 calories but that seems like a very small amount. Can someone who is more knowledgeable about this kind of thing help me out? Thanks!!!

MFP's goal is set without exercise included, so the deficit is already accounted for from your daily activities (work, school, taking care of the house, socializing, and basic bodily functions). With 10 pounds to lose according to your ticker, you should set your goal to half a pound a week, which should give you more calories.0
