Hello! So here I am, trying for the millionth time trying to get my weight under control. I will be twenty-seven in four months and have had weight issues all my life. With the exception of the asthma I was born with I am pretty healthy, which is probably why I was okay with my size. I'm 5'4 and 274lbs. I've never exceeded 240lbs and stopped weighing myself a couple years ago because I adapted to the idea I would always be that size. I was slapped with reality last week and it was not pleasant. Lol. I have tried losing weight before, always for the same reason (to be a healthier image for my two much younger siblings), and the same thing occurs: something happens (I get sick, hurt, go on vacation) and I stop my exercise routine and lose all motivation.
I think part of the problem is I keep everything to myself. Dieting, anxiety, stress, everything. I don't have a real support system in family nor friends. So I'm going to try something new. This time I'm reaching out to those who understand what I'm going through and can hopefully keep me motivated.
I have an amibious goal: lose 120 lbs in fourteen months. Cross your eyeballs and wish me luck!

I've been doing this for three years, and I still struggle. I post my struggles and triumphs on here. having the right group of friends is what really helps. sending friend request.0

its doable. dont look at the end game, look at the (sorry everyone, gulp) journey. Read everything, ignore nearly all of it, weigh everything, log everything, start walking, try new things, when you feel like you've stumbled, get up. its not perfect, its life.0

5'4" and 274 is not healthy, think of all the extra stress you are putting your body under.
Motivation ccomes from you, support you cna get from others, but the real driver is yourself.
How about spending some time preparing and understanding how weight loss works then devising a plan that you cna follow and will work? Start by reading this threads first post

be careful your ambitious goal isnt a rod to break your own back. People cause themselves so much misery on here by imposing tragets which will be very difficult to meet and then flunk out. You could make it, but it requires absolutely everything to go right and for you to put the effort in.0 -
You must be my long lost twin! I am exactly the same. Telling myself this is how I am always going to be because I've always been this way, I keep everything in, little to no support, I also have asthma. If nothing else, that alone should have been the reason I started this LONG ago. Stress? Sends me straight to the chocolate. Then again, chocolate sends me to chocolate. Lol. I have an unhealthy relationship with chocolate. Definitely feel free to add me! I can relate completely and am always willing to help out anyway I can.0
