Tired of Lurking. Help Wanted.

Hello all,
For far too long I have lurked these forums with the intention of joining and finding friends that would keep me motivated. After months of putting it off, I have finally put my foot down and decided to reach out to find others who have been in (or currently in) my position.
A few months ago I stepped on the scale and was flabbergasted at the numbers. I told myself that I would never allow myself to get over 200lb and here I am, at the end of April, 220lb. How did I let myself go this badly? How can I recover?
That is why I'm seeking your help. To keep me motivated, encouraging me that my goals are within reach, that changes don't happen overnight, and that once I get into my "dream weight", I'll never want to let myself go again. This isn't just about creating a diet and sticking to it for ___ months. No. I want to embrace a healthy lifestyle. That every moment, from here on out, is one step closer to maintaining a healthy life, for the rest of my life.
