I know this is going to sound super silly, but whenever I'm about to go work out or have a scheduled exercise plan and the time rolls around to go do it, my body suddenly gets so physically exhausted? It definitely has to be a mental thing, because when I start to think about exercising I suddenly get very tired. Most of the time I'm able to push through it, but is there anything I can do to keep this from happening?

Forgot to add.. I have a condition called hypersomnia, or excessive daytime sleepiness disorder - it may contribute

I am sorry to hear about your disorder. It sounds like it is a mental thing. have you talked to your doctor about it?

I just googled it... Since you appear to have a "diagnosis" I assume you have been to a sleep center for this... Does not appear to be mental...

I read that medications are available from your doctor.

I have hypothyroidism and idiopathic hypersomnia. I did all the sleep studies and have the diagnosis. Is good to know that I wasn't crazy. That being said, I know the fatigue you feel. I take 30 mg of ritalin extended release 2-3 times a day, with an additional 20 mg immediate release here and there just to feel normal. I also am on 250 mcg of levothyroxine once daily. By the end of my workday there is no way I have any energy to work out. Even on my days off if I don't do something first thing, whether it be working out our cleaning the house, it won't get done. Trying to get up earlier to go to the gym is impossible. To those who don't have hypersomnia, we never fully wake up. There is no bright eyed and bushy tailed for us. The foginess or "sleep drunkenness" doesn't go away with a cup of Joe. It takes medications. Stimulants. Even then it's still a battle because you don't have energy, you're just awake and able to function. Then they wear off and you crash. It's not a mental thing. It's a real issue.
