In the realm of no small victories - just concluded a visit with my elderly mother. Always very stressful due to creeping dementia, lots of physical problems, and the intensity of 24/7 time with her for 5 days at a shot. (We live half a country apart). I go about 5-6 times a year and I can't remember a visit where I didn't engage in secret nighttime eating, usually on sweets or cheeses, almost as soon as I put her to bed and I could go to a room to be by myself. Indeed, my last successful run at dieting ended at one of those visits, and it has taken me 4 years to get back into the frame of mind necessary to finally lose weight through healthy eating. Well - this visit, for the first time, I ate properly for every meal, reduced nighttime eating to an apple or some almonds, and returned home a shade lighter than when I left.

This feels really good.

Yay for you! :))) I always have the most trouble staying on track in times of stress, or when I'm traveling, and you overcame both! Fabulous!
