    hell yes. in muay thai, we do shoulder drills with dinky 3lbs weights but after what my trainer puts us through, those 3lbs feels like 30lbs!

    you can also use your own body weight to workout; youtube has plenty of body weight exercise examples to tone your body.

    If you are walking you can always get some 3 pound or so weights that you wrap round your wrists. You would then walk with your arms bent (forearms perpendicular to the ground at a 90 degree angle, moving them back and forth) and that may be a good start. When it comes to neurological problems you never want to push too hard. I went through some neurosurgery myself and it was weeks before I was anything but a delicate sugar blossom barely able to do the stairs or take a shower without needing a nap right after. The most important thing is that you recover from what is ailing you. The rest can be addressed in good time.
