I'm understanding that nothing is completely accurate, but I want to give one a try (return policies are great). I have been looking into fitbit charge hr and polar, but still not sure what would fit my wants & needs. What one/ones do you use (you being anyone reading this post  I got paid today and am going to hike up to walmart and would dig getting some info first. I have posted before with mixed reviews and decided not to get an activity tracker. I am getting more into my exercise, so this could be a great thing for inspiration, tracking, knowing how much to eat...etc.

In my personal opinion, activity trackers are for your everyday activity, the whole 10,000 steps recommendation. I spent too much time sitting on my lazy butt, and my Fitbit helped keep me motivated to have a more active lifestyle.

My understanding is that HR monitors are only reliable for steady-state cardio, like running. If you are doing an activity where you are starting and stopping like weight lifting or interval workouts, they can't give you an accurate reading. So it may be useful for the walking and aerobics at least.

I have a Fitbit Flex, and like I said, it has been a great motivator and tool to improve my every day lifestyle. I log my workouts separately.

Thank you for your imput. So, you think it may be good for step aerobics as well as walking? When I do step aerobics I do a min of 21 minutes (6' step) to 42 min each session, daily. Walking I am doing 3 to 6 miles (approx 4 mph) daily. I've only been doing weights for a month now and have learned its not much for calorie burn but excellent for overal lbm and such. So, I may get the fitbit charge today to try out (but I will make sure that I can return in 15 days in store first) and give it a shot. Thanks again.
