Designer Candles?

Sometimes boutique retail places confuse hell out of me (I've been looking on Yelp). Is our society so decadent and so far gone that we need designer candle stores? Like, really? Designer? A store dedicated entirely to string that burns slowly in a decorative wax case? I know my style can be kind of meat n' potatoes, but this kind of thing hurts my soul a little.

Questions? Comments?

Do you know the intricate way candles are made? The hard work that goes into designing them, to molding them, to crafting them with love? "String that burns"? How dare you, sir. The candle industry is the backbone of our society and I take offense to the obtuse nature of this ridiculous posting. Actually, I think you're awesome and I'm just having some fun on the forums. Designer candles are outlandish and a little bizarre to me.

If people can make a living doing it then why not?

I think that's hardly a justification. I could probably make a living and profit off of lobbying against gay marriage, but that doesn't make it necessary or right or inoffensive.

Oh, that's right, I'm offended by designer candles. OFFENDED!
