When making pancakes etc I often have the issue lf adding a whole 15g of a fat from oil! Are there any low fat alternatives for non stick cooking?

I wouldn't have thought 15gms grams of fat was needed. Do you have a non-stick pan if so, just add enough to grease it..use something to spread it around so as to grease the whole pan.0

If you use a non-stick or well seasoned cast iron pan you should only need to add a tiny bit of butter or oil every 3-5 pancakes. I use coconut oil, about 5g gets me through 15 or so crepes.0

I use an oil sprayer, that I can fill with my own olive oil. Cuts right down on the amount needed. A silicon basting brush for spreading out a thin film is another good tool for cutting down on the amount of oil needed for pan frying.0

For pancakes, I find if I add the oil to the batter, I don't need any additional oil on a non stick pan.0

Oil a a large baking tray, place in oven to heat, pour batter and cook pancakes - less oil and none of that cooking spray - real, but less than if you had to fry.0

why are you worried about 15 grams of fat????? Fat does not make you fat….0

My ceramic pans rarely need any oil added. If I need just a little extra slip, I prefer Pam coconut oil spray.0

Wow. I'm actually trying to convince myself to USE oil so I get more fats...I've been cooking without it.0

It's good, yeah. But I tend to like to save those 50-120 calories for desserts and more food. But I'm going into maintenance now so there's more room for butter if I want.0
