I think if you do it first thing in the morning, you get it done and over with better!
I think if you log before you do it,, then you make for sure that you will do it.if you write it out and then you stick to it.
set goals for yourself daily, and make it happen.put hot pics up,, of what you are striving for.
do not keep junk around, or YOU WILL EAT IT..
  • Tell myself that it's not like I cant have an almond twist (or whatever im craving)ever again... Just not today. It will still be there later. I'm in a special phase right now, looking for change and transformation.
And I look at the success stories.

Maybe write your own success story from the vantage point of 6/12 months away to see how amazing it would feel to get there, then work towards that day.

I keep a list of why I am doing this and carry it with me. When I start to feel like I'm ready to give up or cave into something I really don't need I pull it out and read it a few times.

Find something you really enjoy doing!

Get a workout buddy. Only caveat to this is not to fully depend on them until they prove their worth. I've had 50/50 luck with this. Some gym buddies are fantastic and committed to going every day and you can help encorage each other if one of you isn't really feeling up to giving it your all (my last two were like this - love them both!). Some gym buddies have the best of intentions but come up with too many excuses and don't care about and don't reciprocate your cheerleading and let you down. It happens... You just have to prepare yourself to stay motivated in either situation. Keep going with or without them. Don't let their excuses be your excuses.

Or join a fitness team. One of my best friends is a personal trainer who puts on group training sessions for 8-12 week stints and usually there's some goal - like her current team is training to prepare for the Spartan Race. 8 weeks of training to get their strength and endurance up ending with the actual race and a celebration. See if you can find something like this in your area.

Set fitness goals instead of weight loss goals. Always wanted to run? Sign up for a 5k and start the Couch to 5k training program. Or if you already run and have done 5ks, try training for a 10k or a half marathon...you get my drift. Watched that P90X or Insanity commercial a million times thinking "I would love to try that"? Go ahead and order it. It might be a bit expensive but think of it as an investment in your health and fitness. Keep pushing, keep trying new things!

No excuses! About the same time I started losing weight, a good friend and co-worker of mine was recovering from breast cancer. She started signing up for all these triathalons and bike races and runs and I thought - hell, if she can do it as a cancer survivor, I sure as hell have no excuse to sit on my fat *kitten* and whine! I signed up for a 10k walk and trained for it all summer walking farther and faster every week. She's fully in remission now but she still inspires me. Just had her first baby and we're already planning on doing an obstacle race together next year.

    You can do this!
