Buy plain meats and vegetables and cook from scratch. That's the lowest you can get it as far as I know. Pre-prepared food tends to have sugar added.

If you were to open your food diary, others could review it and offer suggestions. Without knowing what you are currently eating, there is no way to offer "any ideas on better food choices to keep sugar intake low."

But the OP stated he has fatty liver disease. In these types of illnesses, sugar intake does matter medically.

sugar intake doesn't matter, stay under your alotted calories and end up near your macro goals

Before you gave that advice did you look up the requirements for fatty liver disease?

There are some medical conditions that require modified diets.

Read all ingredients on packaged foods, as most have multiple forms of sugar listed. Sugar is very detrimental to health, so it is a good idea to choose not to add it to foods, and to avoid foods high in sugar. It goes without saying that soda pop is not a good for you if concerned about sugar intake. Choose more vegetables over fruit and limit high sugar content fruits like pineapple and grapes and choose berries instead.

    Thanks

Think more vegetables are needed in my diet and less fruit
