Weight training & muscle soreness

Okay, I've started weight training and my muscles ache for a few days after. I knew that I would be sore as I haven't lifted weights. I split up my upper body and leg days. Should I keep working out after my leg days - like some cardio when my legs are pretty sore? (I can still run when my upper body is sore). Will this make my leg muscles more sore for a longer period of time? Just looking for some insight. Thanks.

For upper body i split by doing a push and then a pull day I'll add in a leg day and day for triceps and biceps with ab so 4 days then off i try to keep the volume down a bit as i do cardio every day.0

Sounds like a great routine! I can work out 5 days a week at the gym and I could try your routine.
But you know when you first start and your legs are sore, like you dread dropping something on the floor because you don't want to bend down to pick it up...is it better to do some cardio or rest your legs? I'm just not sure if I try to go for a run or a bike if it will take longer for the soreness to go away.0 -
Yes do the cardio. Helps me feel better to get the blood flowing.0
