How far will MFP decrease my calorie allotment as I lose?

When I started with MFP, I was allotted 1280 calories per day. Now the I've lost 20 (of the 40) pounds, my allotment is 1230 per day. Is there a point beyond which my calories will not decrease? I'd like to think it won't go below 1200.

Thanks in advance for any help/advice offered.

1200 is the lower limit for women. A few mnths ago there was a glitch thst let it go lower but that has been fixed.

As @jemhh says, I don't think MFP will suggest anything lower than 1200. My it is expected that your calorie needs will decrease as you lose weight. If you want to have a play with numbers, try http://scoobysworkshop.com/accurate-calorie-calculator/

MFP dropped mine to 1200 ... I found that too hard to work with, and I was losing quite quickly, so I upped it to 1250. 1250 is more manageable for me, and I am still losing just as quickly.

Keep in mind that you have to eat back exercise calories. Overall, I never had to eat less as I lost weight, as I became more active and started burning more calories from exercise.

Ooo...good point! That makes a difference in how I think about this.
