Why is belly fat so hard to get rid of? Any tips on how not to loose faith in this battle and tackling my beast of a belly. I weight lift and cardio. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Tips, ideas welcomed!

Read the so you want a nice stomach thread at the top of the forum. All you need lies therein.

It's an evolutionary adaptation which is contrary to our present USA way of thinking about 'beauty'.
Look at your close female relatives. If they've got a belly, you will probably store fat there too.
Where you deposit fat & where you lose fat is almost entirely genetic. Most would say 'entirely'.

You can't spot-reduce, but you can tone the muscles so when you lose some fat (which has to happen
all over the body - eat less, move more)
you'll look better. Will probably also lose inches, which adds
to looking better. (Though I find it annoying to try to find pants which fit... I have a 10" difference between
waist & hips, so often have to buy pants to fit my hips, then take in the waist.)

    But yeah, what Ivy said:

Just to clear it up so the OP doesn't get confused; toning is a made up word by fitness magazines to make building muscle sound more female friendly. For the most part you can't build muscle on a deficit.

To OP: As Ivy said read the nice stomach thread, it will have everything you need to know.
