strength training

i was wondering ~ i can only workout 3 times a week and im just now getting back into strength training and wanting to put a routine together was wondering if i did full body how many exercises per muscle group ( ex. how many exercises for shoulders, how many for triceps etc...) not reps ....

    3 times a week? Keep it simple, and get the most bang for your buck using compound barbell exercises. Check out something like Starting Strength, you'll be doing squats, deadlifts, bench press, overhead press and power cleans. You'll increase the weight each session, so if you're just getting back into strength training, put your ego aside to begin with and start light enough that you can keep progressing.
