Up calories as the weight comes off?

I feel like this is a stupid question but I was just reavaluting my TDEE on scooby calcuator and was surprised it told me to eat 1450 cals for same 20% loss. I just assumed I'd have to eat LESS the closer I got to my goal, not the other way around. Can someone confirm this? If it's true great!

Generally, you want to slow down your rate of weight loss to transition into maintenance the closer you get to your goal. However, you will need to eat less calories to maintain the same rate of weight loss as your TDEE gets lower with your weight.0
