Cheat Days?

I don't wanna call them 'cheat days' because to me that means I can do/eat whatever I want and it'll undoubtedly end up in a total binge all day long. But, anyway, I was wondering how often people have days where they allow themselves more than they usually have (possibly going over their limit too) when they are still working to lose weight

    On occasion, when I go over on my calories, I log it and move on. I don't call it anything-i just is.

    Absolutely this! I don't plan days to go over my goal. But it does happen on occasion. I call it life. I will occasionally plan meals (not days) in which I won't weigh/measure and I just allow myself to eat whatever I want in moderation (usually as part of a family event or major holiday). This is my definition of a "cheat meal." This happens I would guess maybe 6 times a year. Otherwise, I work treats into my daily calorie goal and have no need for "cheat days."

    No cheat days ... if I want to eat more, I exercise for it.

    When I realized I had a goal of losing weight, throwing away a 700~ day caloric deficit on a weekly 5000 calorie cheat day became a bad idea :)

    I plan them. No harm in it, it's unlikely to wipe out a monthly deficit, I've lost while having cheat days.

    If all out binging is a problem after a "cheat day" but you still want one now and then, maybe try just having a cheat meal out instead of an all out day of food in the kitchen?
    I do this. A monthly trip to try new resturants or my fav carvery relieves alot of the pressure of always watching what I eat. Plus I get home and get right back on track that way. No way could I live in perfect moderation day in day out year after year, only rule I have is it stops the min I get home.

    I work my weekend into my week. I try to build up some extra deficit for Friday takeaway, Saturday dessert, and a few beers or glasses of wine.

    This is the way I've always done it. It worked the first time I lost weight, it worked maintaining it until I fell pregnant twice in two years, and it's working this time.
