Runners who have done Shortcut to Shred

Short version: Have any runners done shortcut to shred with decent results? I'm wondering what you did for your calorie intake during the program (eat back all calories, some, or none).

Full version: Memorial Day weekend is my half marathon for the year and I'll be doing the Philly Marathon in November (training begins in August). During the summer I'm going to spend half of that "off season" doing the shortcut to shred through July 4. To keep my fitness up (and to not lose my sanity as a runner) I think I'm going to keep running but only at 3 days a week. I'm considering doing three days a week with the Run Less, Run Faster program and set the target up as a 10K to, ideally, rarely go above 6 miles. After July 4th (the six week period for STS) I'll progressively ramp up my long runs to get ready for marathon training.
