new to weight loss

Hi, i am new to actually wanting to try and loos weight. I am 25 currently 178 pounds im only 5'1 lol so look funny being this big!
I really wan to lose 52 pounds in 7 months, i think thats a pretty resonable goal for myslef....
I guess what i need to know is everyones qestion, HOW DO I ACHIEVE THIS HAAHAA!!!!

I have googled, and googled, and get several diff things lol.

I was told to eat 1200 calories a day and burn between 400-600 calories to get my weight loss....
Will this work? Or is this basiclly starving myself?
I dont understand all the calorie deficiate stuff so I really need some help.

i would also like to hear what worked for yall!

    Set your weekly goal to no more than 1.5lbs per week (preferably 1lb per week). 7 months may not be enough time to reach your goal. I personally would suggest not looking at a time frame but instead focusing on healthy habits.

    When you exercise, eat those calories back. You don't want too large of a deficit which you would have by only eating 1200 calories and exercising off 400-600. You would not be leaving your body with enough fuel.
