One if the things I have found is that working out, while it does give me results, is boring, monotonous, dull, and just a miserable chore that I force myself through. If that is the way it has to be then fine. I need some way to turn my workouts into something enjoyable. I have tried numerous workout routines and that has not helped. I simply want to reach the point where my workout isn't something I dread or have to force myself to go through each day.

Results can be quite motivating.
Music makes them easier, but really if you dont like it try and find some form of exercise you do like, could be a sport or other activity.
If it has to be the gym, then I work quite hard at it because the sooner its done I cna get out and the more effort you put in then the more effective and closer to your targets you will be. Rather than dwelling on it, it takes less effort to get it done imo. Some of it is dull and some of it is hard work.0 -
what are you doing that is so monotonous and dull?? i'd bet you're inside, maybe doing a video, or on the elliptical or something.
go outside. get a bike. go for a run or a walk.
but, just to let you know, most of the time it'll be monotonous even if you're outside. but at least the view will be nice.0 -
How do you workout? Gym? Home? DVD's?0

unlike chores there are other exercises you can find that you would enjoy.0

Outside is awesome....Mt bike, hike, run....anything outside. Also music is a great motivator. Take friends on your walk or run and chat.0

I do walk and run, when the weather cooperates, which I enjoy. When the weather is bad I am on the treadmill, which is a treadmill, kind of dull. The big issue is the strength training. I have done workout dvd's, lifted weights, things of that nature. It seems to be mostly different renditions of "I pick things up, and then put them down".0

I had every excuse to head to the gym, and in fact I would tell my family I made it there, even had the gym clothes on and never got there before I joined NS. But now I go six days a week, and hate to miss a day. I change my workout weekly and try a new machine, I have met so many amazing people now that I go everyday, you see the same people at the same time, and it's wonderful support when you get to know them. If you don't want ot be inside at a gym. Go outsdie like Capt_Apollo said get some fresh air, take a walk, take a bike ride. Whatever sounds best to you choice one or more, and take baby steps. It takes time. You will feel better, have more energy, and you will want more exercise because you find out you're loving it because what it does for you in som many different ways. Best of luck to you!0
