Having family over is a pain in the butt!

I got to vent a little. My mom is visiting and she's all over how happy she is that I've lost weight and how good I look now etc, but it's funny how as soon as I get the scale out, the comments start. 'oh but it can't be healthy to weigh everything', 'you really shouldn't have to do that', she comments when I leave after filling my plate to log it before I forget... Ugh.
Then they have breakfast super early (up at 6am every morning. Which wakes me up, so I end up having an early breakfast too), then I'm totally starving at 10am and I have to wait until 12.30pm for lunch, or risk getting comments about eating too much. At least we're eating healthy (well they buy cookies and whatnot on the side), but I'm just waiting for the comments to come when I need a snack every 2 hours...

Can you just let her know gently that you are doing what works for you and in the interest of peace, can she hold her comments to herself about your eating habits?0

Don't worry, my family does the same! I'm at the healthiest I've ever been and toning up. I get frequent comments from my mom about being "too skinny" because I consistently buy a size 4 pants. I used to let it get to me, but now I just nod and tune it out. It's important to take everything with a grain of salt. They aren't trying to sabotage you, just voicing concerns they feel are legitimate.
If it continues, maybe ask politely to please not comment on your eating habits and that they work for you.Best of luck!!

Don't change the way you eat or your routine (to a point) just because family visits. My BIL's and SIL's were here this weekend and I still ate the same as I do every weekend. Still got my workouts in while accommodating and entertaining at the same time.
While family can be a pain, remember that once they are gone from your life, then you'll miss all the BS you put up with. Be grateful that they visit. Some people don't even know or mix with their families at all.

Don't let them throw your routine off. If it works, it works. If you need that snack eat it, and when they do comment tell her this is what is working for me, and to please not comment negatively. Tell her positive support is best, and you have done the research to back up what your doing. I have to remind my family about it every once in a while. (my husband esp. who likes to make the comment on my snacking). He also gets angry b/c I refuse to buy soda now, when guest come over. We always drink the left over, and I do not want it in our house for our children's benefit. I tell him all of our friends, and family know we are striving for a healthier lifestyle if they want something other than what we have they can go get it for themselves, and take it when they leave. It is super important for us seeing as my son has high cholesterol, and is on a very regimented food plan, and my husband has pancreas issues, and must be aware of what he eats (so not to aggravate it)0
