Haven't run for 2 weeks really. After I was told I'd need a hip replacement soon. I'm 52. Got really down and did a few walks but the crunch came yesterday as I realised I'd spiralled out of control. I was having dark thoughts again and realised that the excersise is what jeeps me sane

Sorry to hear that. Are you seeing a doctor about your depression? I'm sure there are other exercises you can do whilst still looking after your hips. Swimming?

If you don't like to swim, walking back and forth across the pool really helps too. Very easy on the joints. You can inwardly laugh at all the people swimming around in shiny lycra with condoms on their heads.

I've been there and know about the black dog. I'm sorry to hear what you are going through, but remember that there are better days ahead.
