Posting from mobile...so I don't want to write a book but does anyone here carb cycle ?

If so, how's your results? Are you doing high, low, no or several days of low and a high, what?

I eat about 2.5 times as many carbs on my lifting days as on non-lifting days.

I feel a little bit better during workouts than I did before, but it could be placebo. Regardless, I'll stick with it for a while.

I eat as many as I want so long as I am in my calorie deficit.

Doesn't sound like carb cycling to me.

I was carb cycling, in a sense, but my activity is high enough now and I've lost the weight that I need to pair carbs and protein (high quality food) consistently on a day-to-day basis. Best to keep feeding the engine consistently. I can see carb cycling being a great idea for those who are trying to cut - to maximize - but otherwise I find it rather pointless. Great points made by the above posters.

Maybe my calories are set too high?

5'3, 135 lbs, 25 years old. Calories set at 1600.

I lift 4x a week for about an hour and stair stepper for 20-30 mins 4 x a week.

I've been doing 5 low carb days... 50g carbs or less. Keeping fats and protein high. Then change up my macros so I hit 125-175g carbs for 2 days. I really didn't see the results I expected. I can't see any results with pictures and nothing on scale. Other people saw pictures and said they saw a difference.

I was talking to someone who's a IFBB pro and they said to try a two week low carb then a refeed. Which I'm down for, whatever works...I will do! I just can not drop body fat.

My only concern is...how efficient is this? I read in Arnold's encyclopedia to never let yourself slip into ketosis. Which if I ingested less then 50g net carbs a day for 13 days...I'm sure that would happen.

Opinions? I just want to be efficient.

Side note : Yes I measure my food. Cups, tbsp, tsp, scale...etc. I'm also having my thyroid checked on Monday.
