Summer Shape Up?

So, I'm trying to figure out how to get in shape this summer, with more time. I used to be quite athletic, then have been bedridden for quite a while. I need to get back in shape and would love to tone up. I have gym access occasionally, a treadmill, a mountain bike (I rarely use because I'm horrible at bike riding) and a pool at my house. I want to tone up my abs, arms, and legs especially. Any advice or ideas at all are welcome.

Glad you are feeling better, OP. Do you need to lose fat? Eating at a deficit and using the number MFP will help with that. The "toning" you are talking about is basically losing fat so that you can see the muscle underneath. It works better if you can save some muscle as you lose fat, using some sort of weight training/resistance program. You cannot spot reduce.

I would make a schedule, a morning routine, and an evening routine. Light, maybe running laps in the pool in the morning routine, and working with free weights, ab work in the evening routine.

Work into it, and consult a physical therapist if you had serious injuries.
