Recommendations for an interval training app?

Does anyone recommend a good interval training app for Android (running, primarily)? I use RunDouble and they do have an interval setting that allows for time or distance. I like it ok, although it only allows 2 alternating intervals and they have to be for the same time. For example 1/2 mile run, 1/2 mile walk, 3 repeats. I'd love to find an app that allows more customization. Maybe 1/2 mile run, 1/4 mile increased pace, 1/2 mile slow recovery, etc. I see that Endomondo and other apps have interval programs if you pay for them. I'd pony up a reasonable amount for something but want to know if it will do what I want before I shell out and set it up to find out then that it doesn't. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I use Endomondo Premium training plans, have used it for 10K improvement, half marathon completion and half marathon improvement. I also used the marathon plan but caught a chest infection and ended up replanning.

Can I ask what you're trying to achieve with your run/ walk intervals? Endomondo will give you a plan based on completion/ improvement and overall distance objectives, and tunes the intervals to your current fitness.

Runkeeper is also an option, but the training plans are a bit more rudimentary.

Moving away from Apps, many Garmin watches do allow programming, but clearly there's a cost premium there. Mine cost me £120.

As above. Endo training plan, and a Garmin watch if i wanted to go that route. Endo Premium will also allow you to set your own intervals.

I just started using HIIT Interval Training Timer by Giorgio Regni on my Note 4. There is a free version you can try. It's missing some bells and whistles, but as far as a good interval timer, I like it. You can set a warm-up and cool-down period, then how long each work and rest session will be and how many rounds you'll do.

Great, thanks! I think I'll check out endomondo. I'm just looking to vary my running and increase speed so fartleks and tempo runs are a goal. Besides they're just fun. I have a fitbit so I'll try the app before a new watch.

I recently tried IntervalTimer+. It looks ok so far. You can make custom sessions, so it's easy to tailor.
