i use daily burn and the program im doing has a recivery day once a week lots of stretching and some yoga. I am also gonna do their full recovery program which basically looks the same except i think it targets specific areas each day to stretch and rejuvenate when i finish in a couple days before i jump into 1 of their 3 month cardio programs. I do appreciate the rest day it seems to help and i feel more relaxed and focused going into my scheduled workout the next day.0

Rest day and recovery day are not necessary the same thing or matter of semantics. Recovery, typically referred as active recovery, is as @jacksonpt described and is actually an advanced technique to do it properly. For the novice just do a rest day and avoid the mental burn out; you can always increase your intensity on subsequent workout days.0
