Sciatic help

Hello friends!
About two weeks ago I tweaked a little something in my lower back while exercising (back squats). Nothing is really hurt but it has caused my sciatic nerve to get pinched (?), creating a feeling like a charley-horse in my right glute, plus some numbness in my right foot. This is the second time this has happened; the first time took almost a month to get things back in order.
Seems like most people dealing with sciatic pain can't sit comfortably, but I'm the opposite; I can sit with no pain but standing or walking becomes excruciating after a little bit. My chiropractor has been working on me, but I'm looking for any other advice.
p.s. Believe it or not (and don't tell my chiropractor) the way I finally got my back adjusted the last time was by doing some light deadlifts, about 150 pounds. I felt my lower right back "popping" and adjusting and, then within minutes, everything was back in place and the pain was gone.

Are you sure it's sciatic pain and not your sacroiliac joint? If you felt a popping and then the pain was gone, it sounds more like a SIJ issue.0

Sounds like a good diagnosis. .I too suffer from SIJ issues and sciatica...it's not pleasant...keep visiting your chiropractor...and don't over extend yourself. ..you can do more harm then good. ..in time it will get better. Having "current" put on the inflamed area and/or "cupping" seems to help me with my lower back issues. ..has your Chiro tried these methods of treatment on you?0 -
SI joint issues deals mostly with inflammation. I had the same issue a few months ago when I slipped on ice. I also work in a physical therapy office. Over the counter anti-inflammatories and ice on a daily regime will help a lot. Also, I would stick to low weight exercises until your pain fully goes away (you don't want to turn anything into a buldged disk). Patience is key! Biking also helps if you want to stay active while healing. Good luck!0

Thanks to everyone for the advice! I didn't know about the sacroiliac joint or the pain that can be associated with it. I'm taking a week off from working out and just resting. Things are feeling better already, although there is a little twinge from time to time.0

Baclofen helped me with pinched nerve I my neck. The very next day after taking it passion was gone.
I also had sciatic pain in my back and going down my leg. After 6 months it was gone. Don't know why.0
